Arn Xu started playing piano at the age of six. Growing up in Miami, he graduated with his Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami, in Coral Gables. He received his Master of Music degree from the University of Toronto in Piano Pedagogy and Performance. He has studied under numerous world-renowned teachers, including Cynthia Chun-Kam, Tian Ying, Kevin Kenner, and Enrico Elisi. During his studies in Toronto, he served as a Teaching Assistant for the Graduate Conducting Program under Maestro Uri Mayer.
Arn has been teaching piano for over 10 years, and is also a piano teacher at the University of Miami Frost School of Music’s Preparatory Program. In both Miami and Toronto, Arn has taught in a group-class setting, as well as private lessons to students of all ages and skills.
In addition to being an active educator, Arn has been described as a sensitive pianist in both a solo and collaborative setting, with performances and masterclasses throughout the United States, Canada, and Sicily. Arn has had the opportunity to play piano as part of several musicals, including: Mary Poppins, Little Shop of Horrors, A Year With Frog and Toad, Sister Act, Hairspray, School of Rock, and In the Heights.
